“For the last 17 years, I’ve been driving a 1991 Honda Civic wagon which I bought used. Although it didn’t have air conditioning, air bags, a cd player, power steering (or anything else for that matter) and it was starting to fall apart, it was a great car and was still getting up to 38 mpg when it came to an unfortunate end. When I reluctantly started searching for a new car, I learned that Honda was coming out with their new Insight in April. So I pre-ordered one from Brown Honda and decided to ride my bike to work all winter long. I am very happy to tell you that my car arrived at the end of last week right before the Open House.
I absolutely love my new Honda Insight.
Over the weekend, I drove my son Ben (who turned 10 in March) down to the Bay to visit with my parents for the weekend. Still on my first tank of gas, I’m averaging a little over 48 mpg. In the months ahead, I’ll share more with you about this new hybrid. In the meantime, here are a few photos, including one of Ben and me in the old Civic. (You might notice the black tape on the antenna which was also broken!)
